Every professional cricketer started somewhere. For me, it was the Northamptonshire County U10 squad in 2018, aged 9. Eight years and 315 matches later, here's the full pathway.

The Timeline

Year Age Level Key Moment
2018 9 Northants U10 First county selection — 8 matches, 60 runs, 5 wickets
2019 10 Northants U11 17 inter-county matches, 299 runs
2020 11 Overstone Park CC (joined) COVID-shortened season — 4 matches, first club appearances
2021 12 Northants U13 + Senior debut 37 matches, 589 runs, first fifty (69 vs Bucks), 18 wickets
2022 13 Senior team + County pathway 49 matches, 906 runs — first 900+ run season, 5 half-centuries
2023 14 Northants U15 59 matches, 1,240 runs — maiden century (104*), 4 county fifties
2024 15 Northants U16 + Senior 1st XI 66 matches, 1,318 runs — 1st XI debut, 200th career match, 30+ wickets
2025 16 Senior 1st XI regular 75 matches, 2,245 runs, 4 centuries, Player of the Year
2026 17 Cricket East (regional) Stepped up to regional representative level

The Numbers Tell the Story

315 matches. 6,700+ runs. 115+ wickets. 5 centuries. All by the age of 17.

But numbers only tell part of the story. The real journey is in the sessions — the thousands of balls faced in nets, the early morning fitness work, the winter training camps in India at Omtex ICWC, the bus rides to away matches, the conversations with coaches who pushed me harder.

Lessons at Every Level

U10-U11: Learn to love the game. Play every match you can. Don't worry about technique — just watch the ball and hit it.

U13: This is where it gets serious. Playing senior cricket at 12 against grown men taught me resilience. You get bounced, you get sledged, you get beaten. You come back next week and try again.

U15-U16: County cricket demands consistency. You can't survive on one good innings — you need to produce week after week. This is where my game matured.

Senior 1st XI: The biggest step. Faster bowling, smarter fielding, tactical captaincy. Every run is earned. Making this transition at 15 was challenging, but it accelerated my development more than anything else.

What's Next

Joining Cricket East in 2026 is the next rung on the ladder — regional representative cricket, competing with the best young players in the East of England. The pathway continues upward.
